A competitive international journalism fellowship supporting emerging storytellers from the Global South in producing impactful, human-centered climate narratives. I completed the CNN Academy Learning Hub curriculum covering journalism ethics, OSINT, mobile journalism, LumaFusion editing, AI in journalism, and newsroom workflows.

For my final pitch, I developed a story on how South Sudanese and Global South writers use poetry and creative spaces for climate advocacy. Though not selected for the Abu Dhabi newsroom simulation, the process deepened my climate storytelling skills. I now hold lifetime access to the CNN Academy Learning Hub.

Selected on a full scholarship as one of ~1,000 global innovators, I participated in the UNLEASH Global Innovation Lab in Kigali — one of the world's leading platforms for youth-led, SDG-aligned innovation. Working with teammates from The Gambia, Chile, the UK, Pakistan, and Cambodia, our team created PappyBags — biodegradable bags made from South Sudan's papyrus reeds as an alternative to single-use plastics. Our solution advanced to the knockout stage before the finals.

A full-scholarship international leadership program — cohort of 52 leaders from 37 countries. I served as Multimedia Apprentice at the Surplus People Project (SPP), a South African social justice organisation advancing food sovereignty, agroecology, and land rights. I documented grassroots work across the Western, Northern, Eastern Cape, and Gauteng provinces through photography, videography, and strategic communications.

Field work took me to Mamre, Wolseley, Springbok, Loeriesfontein, Namakwa Vanrhynsdorp, Boontjiesrivier, Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Paarl. I facilitated a three-day social media training for SAFE Youth and covered the National Indaba Conference for Tshintsha Amakhaya.

Selected as one of two Student Ambassadors for ALU's Ghana immersion, I managed communications, travel logistics, accommodation, and pastoral support for 25+ students. I secured partnerships with 8 Ghanaian organisations for student externships and coordinated company visits, networking events, and cultural experiences throughout the program.

A U.S. Department of State–funded regional initiative for young African changemakers across 14 countries, focused on business communication and market-driven innovation. I completed the MOOC phase and advanced as one of the top 90 regional finalists to compete in Arusha.

My team developed MedLink — a low-bandwidth, "crisis-first" teleconsultation app bridging stranded patients and displaced doctors in conflict zones like Sudan, using a tiered pricing model ($2–$15) and a 25% gross margin structure for sustainability.

As part of ALU's Nairobi Nexus immersion, I participated in a 90-minute hackathon at Google Africa HQ, pitching to industry tech leaders. As Innovation Team Lead, I drove problem identification, UX mapping, wireframing, and pitch architecture using Google Firebase.

My team built SimuSalama — a fraud-prevention web app letting users report suspicious mobile money transactions, cross-reference a crowdsourced fraud database, and receive real-time risk scores. I delivered the opening pitch and navigated a mid-presentation disruption, coordinating a seamless transition to the live demo.

A U.S. Department of State flagship youth leadership program funded by USAID and implemented by Kenyatta University. I participated virtually in the Business and Entrepreneurship Track as part of Cohort 60, developing an AI-powered agricultural venture that uses image recognition to diagnose crop diseases and deliver treatment recommendations to underserved farmers.
